OHAY. So uh. Hum. Where do I start?



Right! Introductions. You may remember me from the last two years of artslam; the first year I did a fantasy-ish headworld of mine, mostly focusing on cultures there and avian dragons, and last year I began a project to convert some Doctor Who AU stories I'd written with a friend of mine into an illustrated web novel of sorts. I also changed concepts for August and did some personal RP characters of mine and my partner and crime's. (If you wanna see my old stuff, the tag link is here!

Well, the past year has been... absolutely nonstop. I mean, it's been great- but I just had so much else to do that RD hasn't seen much progress since last year's artslam. So I'm doing it again this year to get a kick-start on actually getting the first part done and put out there on the internets! Y'know, FINALLY.

Anywho! Today's image is a sort of midway update to the design of Damien, the main companion character for the story. There are a few tweaks still to be made, but I'm going to be focusing more on getting thumbnails for the first episode done first. However-... finals JUST ended yesterday. And after working on various projects nonstop since, y'know, January (and a month of retail slave work before that), I am pretty much exhausted and burnt out. So! I am taking a week off to recooperate and help my sister move and all that lovely stuff. Because I'd hate to start this artslam off being resentful of having to somehow fit in drawing and posting and everything while travelling back home and all that.

But I am already contemplating all sorts of stuff, and I have learned... holy crow, an INSANE amount these last three quarters. I may ramble some. You don't have to read it. :D I plan on making my lengthier, in-depth concept explanations here on the LJ posts, and keeping the Tumblr posts short and sweet and just linking here if people want to know more. SO yeah! I'll post again in a week or so, and in the mean time, I'll be reading and commenting on every one else's rockin' stuff. See you soon!
